Lava flows from the crater of Mayon Volcano in Legazpi, Albay late Monday.
Albay governor Joey Salceda ordered the evacuation of residents, Thursday (Dec.14) night within the eight kilometers extended danger. Shooting plumes of ash into the air, the volcano had five ash explosions, said government volcanologist Danilo Bon.
Local government officials in Albay will meet Tuesday afternoon to discuss the possibility of placing the entire province under a state of calamity after the state geological agency Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised Mayon volcano‘s alert level to 3.
