AGIMAT is a series based on the classic RAMON REVILLA movies of the 70′s and 80′s, which features the Filipino cultural belief in the powers of an agimat or amulet. The mileu of the characters and stories are primarily set in cavite province where the belief in amulets remains strong to this day. The Agimat series will compromise of this four titles, TIAGONG AKYAT played by Gerald Anderson, TONYONG BAYAWAK played by Coco Martin, ELIAS PANIKI played by Jake Cuenca and PEPENG AGIMAT played by Jolo Revilla. Agimat combines our young and upcoming stars with fresh story telling that gives the Ramon Revilla classics a new and modern twist that both our young and viewers can enjoy.
TONYONG BAYAWAK
Tonyo Dela Cruz (Coco Martin), a responsible father who hunts monitor lizards for a living has been chose by a fairy of the forest to battle injustice and to restore peace in Cavite under the guise of Tonyong Bayawak. But the death of his wife Maring leads him to cross the thin line between hero and vigilante.
PEPENG AGIMAT
The second chapter in the Agimat: Ang mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla series, Jolo Revilla plays the title role of Pepeng Agimat. Bullied in school for being the geeky and clumsy student, Pepe will discover that there is a mission he has inherited from his father that he must fulfill. He will be passed a magical amulet which he must use in vanquishing the clan of the aswang that is terrorizing Cavite. But when Pepe falls for the beautiful and mysterious lady named Lora, he will be forced to choose between his mission and his love for her.
TIAGONG AKYAT
Based on the 1973 film which gave Ramon Revilla Sr. the FAMAS Best Actor trophy, Tiagong Akyat follows the life of unconventional hero Santiago Ronquillo. Tiago is an orphan who grew up learning the ways of the streets. After acquiring the amulet known as the ‘Pangil ng Kidlat’ Tiago will possess superhuman strength, speed, and the ability to climb high walls. He will use his gift to steal from the corrupt and help the poor. From his impoverished state, Tiago will rise to heroic status as the celebrated defender of his town. But for how long can Tiago depend on his magical amulet?
