Air Philippines will give Cebu Pacific a serious competition as it re-launched itself yesterday under the brand name Airphil Express.
Air Philippines is the low-cost partner of Philippine Airlines (PAL).
Lucio Tan, chairman of PAL said, Airphil Express is acquiring a total of 20 new airplanes over the next 4 years.
The airline currently flies to routes that are also being served by rival Cebu Pacific.
Airphil Express will service bigger routes such as Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod and Iloilo twice daily.
AirphilExpress introduced a year-round promo fare for the following routes:
Manila to Cagayan de Oro-Manila fare costs P1,864;
Manila-Puerto Princesa-Manila, P1,418;
Manila-Bacolod-Manila, P1,060; and
Manila-Iloilo-Manila, P882
