Andrew Garfield, 26, an American-British actor will be your new friendly neighborhood Spider-man. He will play will play Peter Parker in the 2012 Spider-Man reboot.
After a worldwide search for the next actor to play Peter Parker, Sony announced that Andrew Garfield was chosen officially on July 1, 2010 as the new Spider-Man.
Andrew Garfield is known for his roles in the 2007 films Lions for Lambs and Boy A (for which he won the BAFTA for Best Actor in 2008), as well as 2009′s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Sony Pictures announced in January 2010 that plans for Spider-Man 4 had been cancelled. Due to the stressful measures on the unproduced production (via script problems and dis considerations), Spider-Man 4 is cancelled and Tobey Maguire is not playing Spider-Man for future movies.
Simultaneous with the cancellation of Spider-Man 4, Sony announced that the franchise would be rebooted with a new director and new cast.
The reboot film is scheduled to be released on July 3, 2012 in 3-D and will focus on Peter Parker developing his abilities in high school. The new film will begin production in early December directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt.
