Aisha is an 18-year-old Afghan teen mutilated by her Taliban husband. Her nose and ears were cut off for fleeing her abusive in-laws. She is on the cover of TIME magazine’s August 9 issue showing her mutilated face.
Aisha was married as part of a “blood debt” after her uncle killed one of her husband’s relatives.
The August 9 issue of TIME magazine titled “What Happens If We Leave Afghanistan,” showed that Aisha is a symbol of the price Afghan women have had to pay for the repressive ideology of the Taliban.
The mutilated Afghan girl is also coming to the U.S for her free reconstructive surgery that will give her a new nose. She will meet Peter Grossman of California’s Grossman Burn Foundation. The foundation campaigns on the issue of violence against women as well as providing free plastic surgery work.
I hate those people and all they stand for. What good are they, if all they do is this or murder people, when something doesn’t go their way? They should be fed to the swine! Aisha is still beautiful w/o her nose, because she has inner beauty! Too bad she can’t get a hold of a shot gun so that she could shoot that SOB that mutilated her.
