Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized on August 9 after a suicide attempt, she took an overdose of sleep aid and aspirin.
This happened after learning about the court documents filed by Paula Cook, claiming Fantasia is having a relationship with her husband Antwaun Cook, a cellphone salesman. The court documents shows that there is also a sex tape to prove this infidelity. Paula also claimed that Fantasia harassed her by phone after helping to break up her marriage.
Fantasia’s rep released a statement:
“Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it. She believed him when he told her he and Mrs. Cook separated in the late summer of 2009. She believed Mr. Cook when he told her he lived elsewhere…She knows some of the allegations in Mrs. Cook’s complaint are totally false. There are others she strongly doubts. There is plenty she does not know…Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused.”
