Let your friends know where you are with this new Facebook application, called Facebook Places. Facebook Places enriches your social activities even more. Discover and share new places using your smartphones with Facebook Places.
See a list of places near you, discover new restaurants, mall, bars, etc. Share your current location while on the move. See others who are in that place. Update a post on what you are doing. All of this you can do in your mobile phone with Facebook Places.
Facebook is partnering with Gowalla and Foursquare, sites that lets you shout your current location after “checking in” to a place.
This new online “check in” application is available on Facebook’s iPhone application and Facebook’s touchsite if your mobile browser supports HTML 5 and geolocation.
Facebook Places will only be available in the US, but they are looking forward to make it available in more countries and on additional mobile platforms soon.
