MEXICAN BEAUTY JIMENA NAVARRETE CROWNED AS MISS UNIVERSE 2010 WINNER

Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete won the Miss Universe 2010 title on Tuesday, becoming the 59th winner of the crown in the pageant held at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Jimena Navarrete is Mexico’s second Miss Universe; Lupita Jones of Mexico won the title in 1991.

Navarrete was asked by Olympic gold-medal figure skater Evan Lysacek about her opinion on monitoring children’s use of the Internet.

Her Answer:
“I do believe that Internet is an indispensable, necessary tool for the present time,” she said through an interpreter. “We must be sure to teach them the values that we learned as a family.”

Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarrete shall continue what reigning Miss Universe Stefania Fernandez, who is the 6th Miss Universe title-holder from Venezuela, has started which includes traveling around the world to help educate students from local schools about HIV/AIDS.
