FEDERER OUT, DJOKOVIC VS. NADAL ON US OPEN 2010 FINALS

Djokovic ousts Federer 5-7, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 in the 3-hour, 44-minute US Open 2010 Semifinals. The dream match for Nadal vs. Federer in the US Open 2010 Finals will stay as a dream for now after Novak Djokovic steals the game to Federer with his massive forehand hits during the game. Third-seeded Djokovic will meet No. 1 Nadal in the US Open 2010 Finals on Sunday, September 12.

The 23-year-old Serbian ends Federer’s streak of six US Open finals appearances in a row and a possible US Open Final match with Nadal which they have never played. Novak Djokovic, who owns one Australian Open championship prevented what would have been the eighth Grand Slam championship match between tennis’ top two men.

Nadal has a career 14-7 advantage over Djokovic. The 24-year-old Spaniard has won eight Grand Slam titles but never a U.S. Open championship.

If Nadal wins in the U.S. Open Finals 2010, he will be the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win the French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the same season. The 24-year-old Spaniard also can become the seventh man in tennis history to own at least one championship from each Grand Slam tournament.
