An explosion rocked students from various schools and bystanders near De La Salle University at Taft Avenue after the Bar Exams ended. Initial reports blamed pillbox as the cause of the loud explosion that happened at around 5 p.m, September 26, Sunday, but investigators found out that a world war 2 grenade was used. The incident was also blamed on warring fraternities.
Reports said the incident occurred before students taking Bar Exams came out. 44 people were hurt, the victims were brought to the nearby hospitals. 9 victims were rushed to Philippine General Hospital (PGH) while 15 were brought to Ospital ng Maynila.
Victims include Joanna Katrina Ledda, Arvin Francis Rosales, Philip Edwin Teelo, Gennilyn Ong, Cyril Ferrer, Kathleen Samba, Azenith Gonzalvo, Jamell Ann Marie, Renald Sudla, Denise Osorio, Gladys Mique, Ariana Marzan, Jamella Hoya, KC Campa, Jenny Ong, Princess Daguegoy, Azenith Gonzales, Philip de Ello, Joana Ledda, Karen Estrada, Castles Navarro, Cyrille Perez, Arvin Rosales, Renato Sudla, and Raissa Laurel.
Doctors amputated both legs of one of the victims, Raissa Laurel, 25-years-old, and a 2nd year law student at San Sebastian College. She is now recovering at Philippine General Hospital’s (PGH) intensive care unit.
Sources said that fraternities involved were Tau Gamma Phi and Alpha Kappa Rho. Alpha Kappa Rho officials already denied the allegations.
Law graduates take the Bar examinations on all four Sundays of September at the De La Salle University at Taft Avenue.
Police closed certain portions of Taft Avenue because of the incident.

My cousin did not deserve this. She was there to support and not to wreak havoc. I wish for whoever who did this to live long. Long enough for guilt to creep through his veins and eat his sanity.
