Research in Motion (RIM), makers of the Blackberry, unveiled on Monday its answer to Apple’s iPad using its secure and rich web experience features. The touchscreen tablet computer which was rumored to be called the “Blackpad” is now called the “Blackberry Playbook.”
Debuted at Blackberry DEVCON, Blackberry Playbook is fueled by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and the new BlackBerry Tablet OS built upon the QNX Neutrino architecture, one of the most reliable, secure and robust operating system architectures in the world.
It’s ultra portable, ultra thin and super convenient, the Blackberry Playbook features a vivid 7 inches high resolution display, smaller than the 9.7 inches of Apple’s iPad. Measuring less than half an inch thick and weighing less than a pound, convenient for both work and play.
BlackBerry PlayBook is designed to give users the best web experience, enjoy all of the sites, games and media on the web, with advanced security features. Supports Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1, Adobe® Mobile AIR® and HTML-5.
