Animal lovers worldwide including the Philippines celebrated World Animal Day 2010 on October 4. World Animal Day coincides with the Catholic Church’s celebration on the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, known as the patron saint of animals and the environment.
In the Philippines, special Mass for the animals were held on World Animal Day. Devotees in the Philippines hear mass along with their pets to have them blessed.
Big malls also have different events for World Animal Day like free grooming, vet consultation for pets and many more.
