Starting November 8, former Vice President Noli de Castro and Korina Sanchez are back as anchors of ABS-CBN‘s news program, “TV Patrol.” Noli and Korina replaced Julius and Karen in the longest running Filipino evening primetime newscast. They will join Ted Failon, the only retained anchor of “TV Patrol.”
Karen Davila and Julius Babao are set to join ABS-CBN’s late night news program, Bandila, to join Ces Drilon as anchors. But according to reports Karen Davila has not yet accepted the offer.
Rumor has it, that ABS-CBN’s move on TV PATROL’s face-lift is prompted by it’s new competitor, TV 5 and Willie Revillame‘s variety show “Willing Willie“, which is now gaining popularity.
Another possible reason sighted was the recent resignation of ABS-CBN news head Maria Ressa. Ging Reyes (former North America News Bureau Chief of ABS-CBN) replaced Ressa as ABS-CBN’s news head.
