Mariah Carey broke the news first to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle that she is expecting twins during the annual television special “Christmas in Washington.”
Carey’s husband rapper/actor Nick Cannon confirmed the news on his Rollin’ With Nick Cannon radio show on Thursday:
“In order for my wife and I to have our life, we need to be up front and I need to be able to share things with you and be real. I didn’t even tell my wife I was gonna do this. I’m probably gonna get yelled at for not getting permission… We are having twins!”
Cannon also revealed on how Mariah revealed the news with the Obama’s during TNT’s Christmas in Washington 2010:
“They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, ‘So, what are you having, are you having twins?’” Cannon explained. “And at this point she hadn’t told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along. And because of the excitement, because of the emotion, she was overwhelmed and she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins.”

Meanwhile, here is the video of Mariah Carey‘s performance of “One Child” in the said event. This song is composed by Mariah herself for her new album “Merry Christmas ll You.”
Mariah also performed “O Come All Ye Faithful” for the show.
