The total lunar eclipse will happen on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, but unfortunately sky gazers in the Philippines will only see a part of it.
According to PAGASA, The eclipse will begin at 1:29 PM Philippine Standard Time (PST) and will end at 7:04 PM (PST). As the Moon rises in Manila, the eclipse is on its ending stage. The moon will rise in Manila at 5:36 P.M. on December 21, 2010.

The total lunar eclipse happens when the Moon passes through the penumbral and umbral shadows of the Earth. This means that Earth is in the middle of the Sun and Moon and they are all aligned perfectly or very closely. During this time, the appearance of the Moon may turn its color to blood red or orange.
It will also be a rare lunar eclipse because it coincides with Winter solstice, the longest night of the year. Winter solstice has not coincided with a total lunar eclipse since 1638. Imagine, the darkness of the sky with a great red moon.
Sky gazers in North and South America will be able to see the entire event. Northern and Western Europe will see the beginning of the total eclipse of the Moon before moonset, while northeast Asia will enjoy the view during the ending stage of the eclipse.
