Ted Williams, an ex-radio announcer who became homeless because of alcohol and drugs is now famous like Susan Boyle.
Dubbed as the “Homeless Man with the Golden Voice,” the 53 year-old man who lives by begging on the side of the road and lives in a tent, became an internet star in just one day after his video went viral.
“I have a god given gift of voice. I’m an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please! Any help will be greatfully appreciated. Thank you and God bless you/Happy holidays,” according to the note written on a cardboard used by Williams to beg from drivers.
The video demonstrating Williams. voiceover skills was recorded by Doral Chenoweth, a videographer of Columbus Dispatch, a daily newspaper based in Columbus, Ohio. It was first posted at the Columbus Dispatch’s website and was reposted to YouTube. The video has already garnered 11,760,345 hits as of this writing.

Because of Ted Williams’ golden voice, he has been receiving countless of job offers including an offer with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland offered Ted Williams a full-time job and a house, which he exclaimed as “the best deal ever.”
Thanks to offers from Cleveland, NFL Films, and countless radio stations, the 53-year-old homeless man’s only problem is to choose.
Williams got a new haircut and clean shaven look for his TV appearances and is looking forward to visiting his 92-year-old mother in Brooklyn for the first time in years.

Ted Williams‘ struggles started in 1996 when he began drinking alcohol, use cocaine and marijuana and lost interest in his radio career. He says he is two years clean now.
