The Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Beauty Pageant may be a little bit different. 40 official candidates were chosen instead of the usual 24 will compete for the prestigious titles of Ms. Universe and Ms. International.
An individual Miss World Philippines contest will be held this August as Julia Morley, chairman and CEO of Miss World Limited awarded the license to health and wellness guru Cory Quirino. Winner of the said event will represent the country in the Miss World 2011 contest.
108 girls came from all corners of the Philippines for the screening process, the event was witnessed by the media for the first time. But the rules in the pageant’s selection process is still the same.
Another change is that ABS-CBN will present the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas pageant instead of GMA 7, the host of the pageant for years.
The Bb. Pilipinas 2011 Coronation Night will be held in April at the Araneta Coliseum and will be telecast live at ABS-CBN.
