National Geographic built a floating house inspired by the animated hit movie “UP.” The whole team built a lightweight house which measures 16′ X 16′ 18′ tall. It was lifted with 300 big weather balloons filled with helium. The Up House flew for one hour and reached 10,000 feet.

The Up house will be part of a new National Geographic TV series called How Hard Can It Be? which will premiere in fall 2011.
