DOST chief Mario Montejo said in an interview that the rumors about radiation coming to the Philippines is not true, adding that the leak in Fukushima site was too small to affect the country.
In addition, international news sites reported that Japanese officials have been reassuring the public that radiation levels at the Fukushima 1 are within legal limits.
A second explosion happened on Monday at Unit 3 of the Fukushima No. 1 (Dai-ichi) sending a massive column of smoke into the air. The first blast took place on Saturday at the plant’s Unit 1 reactor after Friday’s twin disasters in Japan.
