Rebecca Black‘s “Friday” video which garnered more than 167 million views is now gone. The viral hit was removed from YouTube on June 16 due to copyright claims from Black’s family.
Black’s team learned that Ark Music Factory has been charging viewers $2.99 to watch the video on YouTube. The video rental created negative publicity for Rebecca Black prompting her team to submit a Take Down Notice to YouTube.

Black’s family and Ark Music Factory have been on dispute over the ownership of “Friday,” Black’s team alleged that the firm exploited the song for selling a “Friday” ringtone and by not giving the song and video’s master recordings to them. Black’s parents paid Ark Music Factory $4,000 to produce the song and video for Rebecca.
The song which many say as the “worst song ever” grew its popularity due to negative feed backs of the lyrics and Black’s auto-tuned vocals. Friday’s music video got more than 167 million views on YouTube but had more than 3 million dislikes and had more negative comments.

who will watch it for $2.99? Duh!
