Tropical Depression “Egay” is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to the latest weather bulletin of PAGASA. But another low-pressure area (LPA) just entered the Philippine territory and it will be named “Falcon” once it intensifies into a tropical depression.
Public storm warning signals are now lowered as a result of Tropical depression Egay‘s exit. Egay brought continues rains during the long weekend which resulted in flooding on some parts of the country.
Western sections of Luzon and Visayas will experience rains due to southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” enhanced by TD Egay.
Meanwhile, PAGASA is closely monitoring the new Low Pressure Area (LPA) estimated at 880 km East of Southern Visayas (10.8N, 134.6E). It will be named “Falcon” once it becomes a cyclone. According to PAGASA, “Falcon” will become a tropical storm within 24-48 hours but there is a small possibility that it will make landfall within the Philippines.
