If Beyonce and Jay-Z were so excited to announce their pregnancy, Twitter is also excited to announce their new record because of them. On Tuesday, the microblogging site announced their new world record – 8,868 tps (tweets per second) because of the news that Beyonce is pregnant.
“Last night at 10:35pm ET, Beyonce’s big MTV #VMA moment gave Twitter a record bump: 8,868 Tweets per second,” the microblogging site announced throught its twitterglobalpr account.

The huge bump of tweets came after Beyonce‘s performance of “Love on Top” at the MTV Video Music Awards wherein she was like a proud mama rubbing her baby bump.
The previous record was held by FIFA Women’s World Cup during the final game between Japan and United States where Japan won. Twitter recorded 7,196 tweets per second after the game.
