DepEd suspends all classes from elementary to high school in NCR due to Typhoon Pedring. Metro Manila was placed under public storm signal no. 2 on Monday afternoon as Bagyong Pedring gains strength.
Based on the Department of Education guidelines, classes in pre-school level in all public and private schools will be automatically suspended with storm number 1, classes in pre-school, elementary and high school in all public and private schools will be automatically suspended with storm signal number 2, and classes in all levels are automatically suspended with storm signal number 3. All travel and outdoor activities are cancelled with storm signal number 4.
Classes in primary and secondary levels in Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Cagayan, General Trias in Cavite, and Antipolo, Rizal have also been suspended.
The Commission on Higher Education is leaving to college and university officials to decide suspension of their classes Tuesday.
Latest Typhoon Pedring update from PAGASA issued at 11:00 pm, September 26, 2011: At 10:00 PM today, the center of Typhoon “PEDRING” was located based on radar, satellite and surface data at 170 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora, packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Aurora, Isabela, Cagayan, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Nueva Viscaya and Quirino.
Areas Under Signal No. 2:
Ilocos Norte, Ilocas Sur, Abra, Apayao, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Quezon including Polillo Island, Bataan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes.

Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Marinduque, Albay, Sorsogon, Burias and Lubang Islands, Babuyan and Calayan grp. Of Islands.
Typhoon Pedring is expected to make landfall early Tuesday morning in Aurora – Isabela area.
