This is good news for Philippine tourism, as the fourth installment of the “Bourne” film franchise titled “Bourne Legacy” will be filming in different locations of Metro Manila. According to reports, the Manila shoot will start later this month and actors Rachel Weisz and Jeremy Renner will come to the country.
Screenwriter and director Tony Gilroy had chosen Manila as location for The Bourne Legacy. According to Gilroy, 40% of the film will be shot in Manila.
The locations for the Manila shoot of The Bourne Legacy includes Ayala Avenue, Intramuros, Jones Bridge, Marikina City Market, Nagtahan, Navotas Fishport, Pasay Taft, Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., and San Andres Market.
It is also believed that the finale of The Bourne Legacy will be filmed in El Nido Palawan. Officials expect the film to help promote Philippine tourism.Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino revealed that there will be car chase scenes along Pasay Taft Rotonda. In this regard, alternative routes for the motorists are being prepared by MMDA to avoid chaotic situations during the shooting which is rumored to begin on January 14. The movie will be filming in Manila for a month.
The Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. According to reports, they will come to the country to shoot some scenes including the car chase along Pasay.
Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon in the first three installments of the film, will not be in The Bourne Legacy. The film is more likely a full spin-off with a new character, CIA operative Aaron Cros which will be played by Jeremy Renner.
