Phillip Phillips was crowned as the new American Idol in the two-hour finale night which also showcased amazing performances by some of the biggest talents in the music industry.
When the results were finally announced, it emerged that America wants Phillip Phillips to be the winner of American Idol Season 11 with a record breaking 132 million votes.
Jessica Sanchez who had a winning duet with Jennifer Holliday hugged Phillip Phillips after host Ryan Seacrest proclaimed him as the winner of the television singing competition.
Phillips can barely sing his crowning song “Home” because he was crying too much.
The two-hour live broadcast included performances from Rihanna, Chaka Khan, Reba McEntire, Neil Diamond, and Jennifer Holliday.
