US Air Force’s X-37B unmanned space plane landed back on Earth on Saturday, June 16 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California after spending 469 days on a top secret mission.
The X-37B spacecraft is built by Boeing. It is a smaller version of the space shuttle and measures 29 feet, three inches long with a wingspan of 14 feet, 11 inches.
The mission of the pilotless aircraft was a big mystery as the US Air Force is not giving enough details about its mission. It was designed to remain in orbit for up to 270 days but the Air Force extended the mission.
Air Force says that the mission was to test technology and to see how long it will last up there but a lot of experts believe that the ship is either spying on Chinese Space Station, disabling enemy satellite or it may be a space weapon of some sort.
