Sage Stallone, the son of action movie star Sylvester Stallone was found dead on Friday in his apartment in Hollywood, authorities and his attorney said.
The 36-year-old son of Stallone with first wife Sasha Czack was pronounced dead at the scene by 911 responders. Unidentified sources tell TMZ that he likely died of an overdose of pills, adding that authorities were trying to establish whether the death was intentional or accidental.
According to reports, George Braunstein, an attorney who has represented Sage Stallone said his body was found by a housekeeper. The Los Angeles police said they were dispatched to investigate a death at a home on Mulholland Terrace around 2:15 p.m, they are in the initial stages of their investigation. A representative of the LAPD stated, “There is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity.”
Braunstein said the young actor was not known to be depressed.
His dad Sylvester, 66, is reportedly “devastated.” A statement issued by his publicist said: “Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son, Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever.”
Sage Moonblood Stallone, followed in his dad’s show business footsteps and made a career as a director and a producer. He was also an actor first, he co-starred with his father in two films. He made his acting debut in 1990′s “Rocky V,” playing the title character’s son, Rocky Balboa Jr. He also appeared with his father in 1996′s “Daylight,” playing a prison inmate.
In 1996, Sage co-founded Grindhouse Releasing with Oscar-winning film editor Bob Murawski. The company restores and promotes B-movies and exploitation films of the 1970s and 80s.
Sage also directed the 2006 short “Vic,” which screened at the Palm Springs Film Festival.
Sage was the eldest son of Sylvester from his first marriage to Sasha Czack. He is survived by his mother, father, his brother Seargeoh, and his three half-sisters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.
