ARMORED CATFISH IN SOUTH FLORIDA DAMAGING LAKES. Millions of armored catfish are damaging South Florida’s lakes. This kind of catfish known for helping fish tanks clean became a big problem because the fish is causing erosion in neighborhood lakes.

Cat-sized rats in Florida’s Grass Key have recently began showing up in the yards of local residents despite ecological efforts to kill them. Wildlife officials fear that the giant hungry rodents called the Gambian pouch rats could devastate local crops and upset the delicate ecological balance if they manage to reach the Florida mainland.

ANOMALOCARIS: SUPER-PREDATOR’S FOSSIL EYES DISCOVERED IN AUSTRALIA HAD REMARKABLE VISION…Researchers from South Australian Museum and University of Adelaide have discovered exceptionally preserved fossil eyes from a super-predator in rocks on Australia’s Kangaroo Island. Known as Anomalocaris, scientists were amazed by the discovery featuring its compound eyes that would rival or exceed that of most living insects and crustaceans.

WORLD’S OLDEST DOG DEATH FROM OLD AGE…Pusuke, a male cross-breed dog and recognized as the World’s Oldest Dog by Guinness Book of World Records in December last year, has died at his home in Sakura in Tochigi prefecture, Japan at the age of 26 years and nine months.

Crocodile Lolong is set to dethrone Cassius Clay as the world’s largest crocodile ever captured. Cassius Clay, the current record holder measured only 18 ft. while his rival Lolong measured a monstrous 20.3 ft. Australian zoologist Adam Britton led the National Geographic (NatGeo) team in measuring Lolong on November 9.

Python, South Florida..According to South Florida Water Management District the 16-foot python was captured and killed in Everglades National Park, Florida on Thursday. Workers found a 76-pound female deer inside the Burmese python. It was one of the largest snakes ever found in South Florida.

Rare Crocodile…Residents of a private neighborhood were stunned when a rare American crocodile appeared on a lake. Shondra Farner called to report the rare crocodile. But a wildlife official initially believed that what she saw was an alligator because an American crocodile is so rare in central or northern Florida.

GIANT CROCODILE: 20-FOOT, 1,075-KG GIANT CROCODILE (LOLONG) CAPTURED ALIVE IN BUNAWAN AGUSAN DEL SUR, PHILIPPINES…A giant crocodile measured at 21-foot and weighed at 1,075-kg was captured in a creek in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur province (Southern Philippines) on Saturday night.
